Outstanding trip. We only had a limited time in the UK so to be able to see the battlefields of Normandy in one day and be back to our hotel for dinner was superb.

“A powerful personal tour of the beaches and gardens of stone…”
Michael graciously customized our ground tour starting at the Brittany American Cemetery where my great uncle is buried (see video of our Brittany visit https://vimeo.com/173420118 )
before proceeding to Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and Normandy American Cemetery. We thoroughly enjoyed Michael’s special insight into both the strategic picture and rich battlefield detail. It’s a humbling, powerful experience walking these beaches where so many sacrificed and then visiting the pristine, peaceful “gardens of stone”, all with a guide who possesses a unique passion for exploring this historic invasion. With the single day itinerary from/to London we were able fit this fantastic tour into our tight schedule.

If you want to get a real feel for the Normandy landings and subsequent battles you need to visit the area with a knowledgeable, sympathetic guide who has a passion for the subject. Michael Phillips is the perfect professional guide. Though my tour with him I discovered that despite my own interest in the subject my knowledge was limited by comparison. Mike can make it come to life in a way that is both memorable and interesting- even for those that may have little interest!

We had the most wonderful day yesterday visiting Normandy. I cannot thank you enough for planning such a fantastic trip. Both taxi drivers were great, our pilot was lovely and our tour guide in Normandy (Tom) was superb.

We were very lucky with a sunny clear day, which made the flight quite enjoyable, too. I have already recommended you to three friends who are seriously considering signing up.

This was a wonderful way to see the highlights in one day – we all learned a lot and really enjoyed seeing everything.

All I can say is “Wow!!”

The logistics worked like clockwork and the tour on the ground was fabulous.

The family and I are still talking about the experience and my wife has even been looking up maps of the terrain!

We want to thank you and your partners for a most memorable trip to Normandy.

We throughly enjoyed our subsequent travels to the British and Irish Isles but Normandy was definitely the highlight.

Everything went smoothly and everyone was courteous and knowledgeable.

We had a brief but interesting conversation with Robin and we have never had a better tour guide than Tom Sellen at Bayeux Shuttle.
